The price is going up, Sales could use a hug, and RevOps has its wallet out...
Here’s what’s happening this week in Sales! 🚀

March 25, 2024
#1 - 73% of SaaS companies are planning a price increase 💰️
According to a recent poll by SaaStr, we could see a wave of price increases this year.
73% of poll respondents said that they were planning to raise prices (vs only 54% last year.)
Price changes are common, but the potential ripple effect of 3/4 vendors increasing in the same year is interesting and could ruffle some feathers.
Some won’t charge existing customers more, but many will find themselves in uncomfortable renewal pricing conversations. Some of those will spark evaluations of alternate vendors.
The hard part for sellers might be figuring out whether their hot new opportunity is ready to jump from an incumbent, or just looking for negotiating leverage 🤔
#2 - Mental Health In Sales Is Getting Worse 😐️
Many salespeople have been going through it lately.
A recent survey by Sales Health Alliance revealed that 70% of sales pros rate their mental health as either ‘poor’ or ‘fair’ (ie a score of 2/5 or worse).
This number has been trending up and was only 43% in 2020 which is not exactly remembered as a great time for mental wellbeing.
The main underlying reasons were rising fears about job security, ability to hit targets, and meet financial goals.
Something particularly discouraging is that only 28% of sellers believe they work in a supportive environment.
Sales is a career of peaks and valleys, and this is a reminder that small actions by leadership, peers, and even colleagues outside of sales can make a huge difference on the experience (and a team's performance!)
